Two American Corner Orientations at the American Corner at Narva Central Library
on March 31, 2005.

On Thursday March 31, the American Corner at Narva Central Library hosted two presentations providing an overview of the resources available at the Corner.

The first talk was given to 19 1st Year English Teaching majors studying at Tartu University, Narva College. After listening to a short presentation about the different resources, students broke into smaller groups and competed against each other by using some of the books to find answers to questions as part of an information scavenger hunt designed by Corner staff and Jr. English Language Fellow, Kimberly Schaefer.

Students then spent time browsing the resources and commenting on how they might be able to use some of them to learn about the United States and improve their English language skills.

The second presentation was conducted for 7 English teachers currently teaching in the local schools. After hearing an overview of the available resources, the teachers discussed how the resources and services at the Corner could be tailored to better meet the needs of English teachers and their students in Narva and the surrounding area.
